Regional Roommate Gifts

     When in Baltimore for a Stampin' Up! Regional event, I shared a hotel room with 2 of my teammates.  Part of the fun of going to Stampin' Up! events and sharing a hotel room, is the roommate gifts.  It took me a few weeks to decide what to make the ladies.  But once I stumbled upon this cute butterfly box designed by Stampin' Up! demonstrator Brenda Quintana, aka, Qbee.  It goes perfectly with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die.

• matching pen (with DSP in the barrel)

     A last minute addition, the night before we left, was a scissors fob (aka charm).  I saw this on Pinterest and had to make them.

Thinking of You Butterfly

     This is the card that Bonnie designed for our Stampin' Dessert Night last week.  It was a very simple card to make.  A lady who never stamped before found it very easy to make this card.

     Bonnie's card didn't have the Designer Label Punch layered all the way around it.  Her's just had a simple layer on the two ends (you just punch it again, cut it in half, cut the corners off of the cut line, and layer underneath).  I experimented and using some ideas from other demos, I figured out a way to make the layer.

FREE MINI TUTORIAL

• Punch out two Designer Label Punches from the same color card stock.
• Cut one in half long ways.
• Cut the other one in half the other way.
• Trim the corners of all the edges you just cut.
• Use SNAIL adhesive, and put adhesive on the entire back of the one you designed.
• Layer it under the designed one you already have punched out:
• Put the top & bottom on first - layering out as much as you wish.
• Put the sides on - matching the layering from the top & bottom
• NOTE:  You may need to add more adhesive as you add layer to ensure that the layers stick.
• Add to your project.

White on White Wedding

CONGRATULATIONS KATE & DAN!

     I wanted to make an elegant wedding card for Kate & Dan.  I had seen a bunch of wonderful white on white ideas on Stampin' Connection (a Stampin' Up! demonstrator-only website).  I love the look of white on white and knew the look would be the perfect look for an elegant wedding card.

     I thought about using a color (green - Kate's favorite color), but I just didn't like it.  I pulled out black and knew in an instant that black was the color to use.

     I used a little bit of 2-way glue down the center of each butterfly.  When I stuck each butterfly down, I held them down in the middle (where I placed the glue), and pulled the wings up a little bit.  This makes the butterflies 3D and gives them the effect of flying around the card.

     I used a clear envelope (102619) as the finishing touch.

It's always fun to see your card while it's in the envelope, especially when it's a beautiful card!

     It was a make-n-take at our demonstrator monthly meeting in March.  I loved it so much, I made this one based on Liz's design:

     I used Liz's layout - the scallop circle, the cut out butterfly, and the grey background.  I changed up a bit my using a letterpress plate to add the design in the gray paper, and I chose pink (my favorite color).  What do you think?

Kind Elegant Butterfly

     I have a workshop coming up at the end of the month.  I CASEd this card from Barbara Koscienlny, off of Stampin' Connection-a networking site for demonstrators (an added bonus to being a demonstrator).  This is one of the cards the ladies will be making.

Butterfly Card

     I'm loving the butterflies, and with the butterfly challenge going on, I'm using it as an excuse to play with everything butterflies.
     With all the snow we got over the last 24 hours, a little spring was needed.  This is what I came up with:

     I've done this one for a demo swap I'm participating in this month.  I just bought this embossing folder and when I saw it, I knew it needed butterflies.

Butterfly Challenge

     SU! Late Night Stampers Challenge #56--Butterflies.  How could I pass up this challenge?  Well, I couldn't!  I really LOVE butterflies and after a few days thought, I knew exactly what I wanted to make to enter this challenge:

     I hope my project makes you think of spring.  Even though Phil saw his shadow today, and proclaimed 6 more weeks of winter, someone will need to tell that to the robins I saw today.  It's been in the teens for about 1 1/2 weeks now, and it's snowing as I type this, but the robins have decided to migrate to PA in early February.  Maybe they know something that Phil doesn't know?

Butterflies

     Like I mentioned in my last post, I LOVE butterflies.  When Stampin' UP! came out with their "Flight of the Butterflies" stamp set, along with matching punch, I immediately bought them.

     This card, CASEd from Mary Rodgers.  She posted a card she did on the Demo-only site, Stampin' Connection (a fun, and very resourceful, site for demos only.  A nice benefit for being a demonstrator).  When I saw her card, I knew I just had to make one.  Once I made one, I knew I needed to share my love of butterflies with others.  At a workshop I did today, the ladies made this card.  Everyone loved the butterflies and the butterfly punch.  It was a lot of fun to make.  The nice thing about this stamp set and design, any color would work.

Butterfly Notepads

     Butterflies...I love them!  I found this wonderful idea done by Madeline Morcelo.  See her notepads HERE.  I loved them so much I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) them 100%.  The Big Shot is wonderful!  I was able to run a think amount of printer/copy paper through all at once, making this project go so quick.  These will be gifts for my hostesses this month.  I hope they love them as much as I do!

Thinking of You

I made this card back in February for a friend who experienced the loss of her son. I used all Stampin' UP! products. Of course the colors of the paper used are all now retired, but any colors can be used. I cut out the butterflies with the Stampin' UP! Sizzix dieBeautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. I cut them out on my Cuttlebug--yes the Sizzix dies work in the Cuttlebug :O)

Here is a side view of my card. As you can see, I only used adhesive on the middle of each butterfly and then pulled the wings up, for a 3D effect.
