Holiday Nugget Treats

     Welcome to my version of Christmas in July!  Actually, somehow this post never posted in December.  I think I forgot to hit the post button.  So, instead of just deleting it, I've opted to post it in July, for those of you that like to get a jump on your holiday crafting.

     I made these really cute holiday nugget treats with my friend Stephanie last December.  She invited me over to her class to make them.  I'm so glad I went.  They are just perfect little gifts to pass out at school.

     The idea came from Heidi Boos.  She has a full tutorial on her blog.  They were so simple to make.  I made 10 in one sitting.

     Now, please note, that the DSP I used is now long since been retired, but that's not a problem, just use what you have.

Spotted Elephant Christmas Card

     I love Rudolph, don't you?  I especially love the Land of Misfits and the Misfit Toys.  And to be more accurate, I really ♥ LOVE ♥ the Spotted Elephant.  I love that he's pink.  Not only that, but he's just so darn cute!

     When I was blog surfing this past weekend, I saw a card made my Candace Pelfrey, for an SVG Cutting Files blog hop.  Her card had the spotted elephant on it.  I instantly fell in love.  I knew immediately I NEEDED that cut file.  So, I got it!

A Fancy Christmas Card

     I wanted to make a very special Christmas card to give two very special people.  When I sat down to make these cards, I had no idea what I was going to make.  I looked around my stamp room and stopped when I saw this card:

     I knew I wanted to CASE this card - but give it a Christmas feel to it.  So, here is was I came up with.  What do you think?

     Most of the time I do not come up with my own designs.  I CASE, (Copy And Share Everything), a lot!  I love someone else's idea and I remake it, making it my own.  This is what Stampin' Up! is all about.   I hope you CASE what I post here and make it your own.  Just PLEASE remember the golden rule - always give credit where credit is due.  As you will notice, I ALWAYS give credit when it's not my idea.  Just think how you would feel if you designed something and someone else copied it and took all the credit for it.

Christmas Stocking

     Of all the wonderful items in the Holiday Mini Catalog (which ends on January 3, 2012), the Stocking Builder Punch & the Stitched Stockings stamp set are my favorite.  I've used both items so much this holiday season.

     On top of the obvious ways to use this punch and stamp set, I've learned of a few other ways to use this set:

This is a topper on a 1x8 cellophane bag full of M & M's.

 These two cards are the same with the exception of the embossing folders used on the backgrounds.

*NOTE*  We got word this week from Stampin' Up! that both the Stocking Builder Punch and the Stitched Stocking Stamp Set will be retiring on January 3rd, when the Holiday Mini Catalog retires.  They will NOT be appearing in the new Idea Book & Catalog coming out in July 2012.  So if you want either the punch, the stamp set, or both, please order them NOW!  Once their stock is depleted, you won't be able to get them anymore.

Ornament Christmas Card

     The Christmas card  I made this year was a CASE of myself :O)  In this version I used a rhinestons and Dazzling Details.  This is the Christmas card I made for my co-workers.

     This card was super simple and quick to make.   Despite that, in person, it's gorgeous!

Stampin' Up! Holiday Center Piece

     The minute I saw the Candy Cane Bouquet by Leigha Rock, I knew immediately I needed to purchase her tutorial and make the GORGEOUS center piece for my Christmas table.  I also knew it would take time to make it, and indeed it did - an entire week (2-4 hours of work a night).  I do say with confidence that it was worth all the hours I put into it.

My homemade Advent Calendars

     When the Holiday Mini Catalog, (available to order from until January 3, 2012), came out, I looked right past the 25 & Counting stamp set - saying to myself, "Sandy, you just don't have time this year to make an Advent calendar.  Don't get it and stress yourself out because you didn't have time to make one."

     Well, last month, when I placed my monthly order, I ended ended up with enough Hostess Dollars to get it FREE!  So I got it!  When it arrived, I thought, no time, no time.  Next year.  That is when my upline chimed in and said, let's get together and make one.  So I got all excited and got ready, but she had to cancel.  So then my mom jumped in and said, "We WILL make them!"

     We bought mini muffin tins to build our Advent calendars on.  What do you think?

Stocking Gift Card Holder

     I'm so sorry it's been a long time since I've last posted.  I've been busy holding classes and getting ready for this very exciting holiday coming up :O)

     I took a class with Bonnie Fields, another demonstrator on the same team I'm on.  I just loved this idea and HAD to know how to make it.  I ♥ the Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper.  I particularly love this pattern.  The color combination of this is so perfect for the holidays.

     This is such a cute way to present a gift card.  We made this at my December Stampin' Nite class.  All the ladies just loved this project.  The ideas were just flowing all over the room.

Mini Shaker Card Fun

     This is one of the cards we made at my November Stampin' Nite:

      This is a 3 x 3 card.  I got the inspiration for this card from the card I posted in THIS post, which ultimately came from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini catalog.

      This card was a lot of fun to make.  The ladies did have some trouble with the shaker frames - they stuck to each other.  But other than that, all the cards turned out gorgeous!

Cute Candy Box

     I came across this cute little box on a couple of different blogs.  The originator of this box is Brenda Quintana.  Dawn Griffith also did a version of this box.

     The minute I saw this little box, I immediately made 10 of them :O)  I gave them to the ladies who attended a workshop I had a couple of weeks ago.  The ladies LOVED them.  They were so quick and easy to make.  Pumping out 10 was no big deal.

     Both Brenda and Dawn used DSP on the four sides of the box, but I used Whisper White card stock and stamped it - creating my own DSP.

Teacher Gifts Stampin' UP! Style

     Here is the gift I made for all the teachers this year.  It's the same little box, with hand sanitizer, that I showed you in THESE posts.  This time, I added a gift card pocket to add a gift card.  This gift was a hit this year.  All the teachers LOVED this gift.

     This is the gift I made for the crossing guard.  It's a really cute little box filled with Hershey's Kisses.  I put the box in a large treat bag (one that was slightly bigger than the box and handle) and tied it with a holiday ribbon.  The recipient loved it.

     I hope you have enjoyed seeing the gifts I made this year.  I really enjoyed making them.

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

Aren't these just the cutest gingerbread men ever?

     I CASEd the gingerbread man idea from Heather Summers.  I love how cute and simple they were to make.  I opted for non-traditional Christmas colors, just for something different, plus to use the In-colors, which I have yet to do.

     I'm really happy with how both cards turned out.

Embossed Christmas Tree Card

     I have been trying to figure out how to do this Christmas tree since last Christmas.  I got tired of ruining card stock, so I gave up until I stumbled across a video by Tami White.  Thank you Tami for sharing how to do this!  I'm so excited!

FREE TUTORIAL:

     To make the tree, cut come thick card stock or chipboard into the shape and size you want your Christmas tree.  Tape it to the outside of your embossing folder.  Place your card stock inside the embossing folder.  Use Tab 1 (your platform completely closed), then put your embossing folder on the platform, and then a plate.  Run it through your Big Shot, and voila!  A beautiful tree!

     I really like the colors of this card.  Some think of them as Christmas colors and other don't.  However you see it, you have to admit these colors are very pretty together.

Stampin' UP! Stockings Christmas Card

     I designed a Christmas card about a month ago, in hopes of reproducing it for a vendor show I was getting ready to participate in.  I got really sick just before the date, and only ended up making my sample.

     The photo does not do the card justice.  It is very clean and simple, but also gorgeous.  Sometimes I impress myself.

     I used the Joyful Seasons Letterpress & Old Olive Craft Ink (the craft inks work best with the letterpresses).  I only inked up the stockings (there is a saying and some dots also on the plate).

      I then used clear embossing powder and heat embossed the stockings.  It gives the stockings a slightly shiny look to them and they are slightly raised.  It adds to the card.
