A Fancy Christmas Card

I wanted to make a very special Christmas card to give two very special people.  When I sat down to make these cards, I had no idea what I was going to make.  I looked around my stamp room and stopped when I saw this card:

Idea came from Bonnie Fields

I knew I wanted to CASE this card - but give it a Christmas feel to it.  So, here is was I came up with.  What do you think?

My CASE of Bonnie's card

I love how this card turned out!  This picture does not do it justice.

RECIPE

CARD STOCK:  Whisper White, Real Red, Always Artichoke, & Silver Glimmer Paper

INKS:  Real Red & Always Artichoke

STAMPS:  Serene Snowflakes & Christmas Greetings

TOOLS:  Snowflake Punch, 1-1/4" Square Punch, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Mini Sliver Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon, & Glue Dots

Most of the time I do not come up with my own designs.  I CASE, (Copy And Share Everything), a lot!  I love someone else's idea and I remake it, making it my own.  This is what Stampin' Up! is all about.   I hope you CASE what I post here and make it your own.  Just PLEASE remember the golden rule - always give credit where credit is due.  As you will notice, I ALWAYS give credit when it's not my idea.  Just think how you would feel if you designed something and someone else copied it and took all the credit for it.

With that said, please feel free to CASE what I post here - that is why I share my ideas with all of you!

Happy Tuesday!

Mini Shaker Card Fun

This is one of the cards we made at my November Stampin' Nite:

This is a 3 x 3 card.  I got the inspiration for this card from the card I posted in THIS post, which ultimately came from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini catalog.

This card was a lot of fun to make.  The ladies did have some trouble with the shaker frames - they stuck to each other.  But other than that, all the cards turned out gorgeous!

RECIPE

CARD STOCK:  Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, & Whisper White

INKS:  Versa Mark & Marina Mist

MARKERS:  Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, & VersaMarker

STAMPS:  Button Buddies, Punch Pals, & Serene Snowflakes

TOOLS:  Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Shaker Frames (1-1/4" circle), Dazzling Details, Silver Glitter Glass, Dimensionals, Window Sheets, & Mat Pack

If you are looking for some time to work on your holiday cards, gifts, and tags, please join me on Saturday December 3, 2011, from 1-4 PM.  Bring all your supplies (all products welcome), and use my stamps and Big Shot (dies & embossing folders), and get your holida projects done.  Click HERE for all the details.
If you plan to come, please let me know by 11/29/11.  This will help me make sure I have enough table space and chairs for all who plan to come.

Happy Sunday (a little early)!

Shaker Card Fun

I saw the shaker card in the Holiday Mini catalog and decided I really wanted to try one.  I used the one in the catalog as my inspiration.  Here is what I came up with:

I love everything about this card: the color combo, the stamps used, the Mica flakes used in the shaker.  Just everything!

The shaker frames make making a shaker card SO easy!  You have 6 sizes to choose from - all size sizes correspond with a circle punch.  Just punch the same sized window sheet to place over top of your completed shaker, and voila!  A beautiful shaker card!

RECIPE:

CARD STOCK:  Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, & Whisper White

INKS:  Versa Mark, Stazon Black, Island Indigo, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Real Red, and Baja Breeze

STAMPS:  Jolliest Time of the Year & Serene Snowflakes

TOOLS:  Clear Embossing Powder, Shaker Frames (1-3/8"), 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Mica Flakes, Mini Silver Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, Window Sheets, Dimensionals,  & Stamping Sponges

I will be hosting a class on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at 6 PM (Stampin' Nite).  We will be making a mini version of this card (a 3 x 3 card) and another gorgeous card using the emboss resist technique on glossy paper.  If you are interested in attending this class, please contact me today (stampwithsandy@rcn.com)

Happy Wednesday!
