Angry Birds - Stampin' Up! Style

I don't know about your house, but in my house Angry Birds is HUGE!  It's also big with a bunch of my friends.  Who knew that grown adults would love this game as much as kids?

I received the tag below from a dear demonstrator friend, Bonnie Fields.

She used the Two Tags Big Shot die, the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, and a few other various punches to create her Angry Bird.

Her tag was what got me going on making my card.  I actually CASEd my card from Maria Cameron.  I basically copied her card completely - yet I did have Bonnie's tag in hand to use a reference.  So you can say I used both to create my card.

This card passed the kid test for authenticity, so I know it's a good one.  I gave this card to a co-worker.  He loved it, as well as all the kids who saw it.  I LOVE when my cards cause people to smile and say, "You made that?"  I live to hear that every time I give a card or project I make.  It's my fuel to keep creating.

RECIPE

CARD STOCK:  Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, & Crumb Cake

INK:  Bashful Blue, Old Olive, & Versa Mark

STAMPS:  Woodgrain background stamp & Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired)

TOOLS:  Whisper White Embossing Powder, Hemp Twine (retired), Dimensionals, & Stamping Sponges

I hope you think my Angry Bird looks like the real bird.  I made him twice before I was happy with him, yet I'm still not happy with his tail.  But of course, that is for the next time I make this card.

Happy Saturday!

Spirelli Technique - Stampin' Up! Style

CASEd from Jan Hoyt

When I first saw this card I immediately wanted to learn how to make the spiral on the front.  Then I just wanted to make the card.  I fell in love with this card immediately!  But, before I could make this card, I HAD to find the demonstrator who made it.  It didn't take long before I found her - Jan Hoyt!  Not only did I find out who made the card, but I also found her email address and told how much I LOVED her card.  She gave credit a few other demonstrators who did very different cards, but who's ideas she put into her card.  So one can say this card is a creation of many.  I love when that happens!

Not only did I like this card using Island Indigo, but I wanted to see what it would look like in Calypso Coral.  What did you think?

CASEd from Jan Hoyt

I love both cards!  I think this card wold be gorgeous in any color you choose.  I love it when a card design is that versatile.  More for your money!  GREAT concept!

This is one of the cards we will be making at my Stampin' Nite in May (the Island Indigo card).  If you really like cards like this one, come join me for my monthly Stampin' Nites - the second Thursday of each month.  You can also find out information on this class HERE.  RSVPs are required and some months payment is required with your RSVP.  Be sure to check it out.  Contact me with any questions you have.

Stampin' Up! Holiday Center Piece

The minute I saw the Candy Cane Bouquet by Leigha Rock, I knew immediately I needed to purchase her tutorial and make the GORGEOUS center piece for my Christmas table.  I also knew it would take time to make it, and indeed it did - an entire week (2-4 hours of work a night).  I do say with confidence that it was worth all the hours I put into it.

     What do you think?

This picture just does not do the bouquet justice.  If you think the photo is gorgeous, you should see it in person!

October Stampin' Nite fun

My first monthly Stampin' Nite was so much fun!  You definitely don't want to miss the next one in November (the 10th - link on the "Stampin' Nite" tab at the top for all the details).

Here are photos of the card and candy treat me made:

This is the card:

We did the Rock-n-Roll technique on this card (on the leaves).  The ladies had a blast mixing and matching colors.  Everyone's card was so different and gorgeous!

INKS:  Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, & River Rock

STAMPS:  Day of Gratitude, Hand-Penned Holiday, & French Foliage

TECHNIQUE:  Rock-n-Roll

This is the candy treat:

On November 10th, we will be making two holiday-themed cards.  One will be a shaker card (using the new Shake Frames) and the other will use the embossing resist technique on Glossy paper (gorgeous if I might say so myself!).  You will use one Shaker Frame and get to take the rest of the set (5 more rings) home with you, so you can make more at home.  If you are interested in these types of cards, don't miss November's Stampin' Nite.  RSVP by November 5th.

Happy Birthday (to Mom)!

In honor of my mom's birthday, I've decided to post this birthday card.  This is not her birthday card (that one will be reviled after she opens it).  I CASEd it from Mary Brown.  I switched up the colors a little bit, but it's her design.  Though I really like the design, I'm not 100% happy with this card.

INK:  Pretty In Pink, Baja Breeze,  & Rose Red

Snow Day = Snowman Card

I ended up with a snow day yesterday, (4" of snow total), but my boys only got a 2-hour delay.  SO, I played all afternoon.  YAY!!!!!

I saw a card from a demonstrator friend, Bonnie, that I just fell in love with.  Each time I saw this card I would take a picture of it, download it to my computer, and there is sat - just waiting.  On Monday, at our Dessert Night, Bonnie brought the card again, only this time, instead of taking another picture of it, I borrowed it (promising to return it by week's end) and decided to CASE it.

The demonstrator who made the card is Gina Dygert.  It was her swap card for Stampin' UP!'s annual convention last July.  Her's said "Let Is Snow" from the Punch Pals set, but I used "Thank You" from the Just Because set.

RECIPE:

CARD STOCK:  Whisper White & Chocolate Chip

INKS:  Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, & Early Espresso

STAMPS:  Playful Pieces (Level 3 Hostess Set) & Just Because (Level 1 Hostess Set)

TOOLS:  1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, &, Stampin' Sponge

Click HERE to shop online for any of these products.

FREE TUTORIAL:

I punched out each circle using scrap card stock and "built" my snowman from the 3 circles.  I taped them together.  I used Mono Adhesive (the temporary adhesive) to hold my snowman onto my card front while I sponged around my snowman.  I then pulled it off, rubber off the adhesive, and voila, my snowman!  It was so simple and fun to make.

Now I know what you are thinking: "Sandy-there is no way I can get that stamp set.  A level 3 hostess set is so hard to get."  Well Ladies, I'm here to tell you that is NOT so!  Sale-A-Bration is coming in 13 days.  Host a workshop during Sale-A-Bration [SAB] (when everyone can earn FREE stamps for every $50 they spend), and that Level 3 stamp set is very much in reach.  Everyone loves FREE stamps, paper, and MDS programs.  Consider hosting your own workshop to get this level 3 set, plus $60 or more is FREE products for yourself AND a FREE SAB set.

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

Aren't these just the cutest gingerbread men ever?

I CASEd the gingerbread man idea from Heather Summers.  I love how cute and simple they were to make.  I opted for non-traditional Christmas colors, just for something different, plus to use the In-colors, which I have yet to do.

I'm really happy with how both cards turned out.

RECIPE:

CARD STOCK:  Whisper White, Soft Suede, & Blushing Bride or Concord Crush

INK:  Whisper White Craft & Blushing Bride or Concord Crush Classic Inks

STAMPS:  Perfect Punches & Punch Pals

TOOLS:  Fancy Flower Punch, In-Color Glimmer Brads, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Crop-A-Dile (3/16" circle for eyes), Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen, Diamensionals, SNAIL Adhesive, & Stampin' Sponges

I hope these cards make you smile.  We all need a smile on a Thursday!

Clean Hands - Stampin' UP! Style

Aren't these just the cutest boxes?  "What's in them?", you ask?  Well, take a look:

Hand sanitizer from Bath-n-Body Works

I cannot take credit for this project.  I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from a fellow demonstrator, Erica.  The minute I saw these, I knew I wanted to make a few of them.  They are super simple, and don't use a ton of paper.

These ones in particular, where made with retired paper, (I have been trying to use up my stash).  The stamp sets used are current, as well as the punches.  I would give you the tutorial, but Erica did such a wonderful job with it, I won't try to rewrite her tutorial.  Instead, I'll provide you with the link to her tutorial.  Check it out HERE.  Erica's boxes are much more fancier than mine, but I really like simple.
