Gratitude

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

   
     I got the idea for this card from Paper Crafts Magazine, November/December 2012 issue.  The tutorial used a different company's stamps, but I knew Stampin' Up!'s set, Gently Falling, would be perfect, and it is!


MINI TUTORIAL:

• Stamp the solid background leaves on a Post-It note or copy paper and cut out.  Do this all the leaves you want on your card.
• Use temporary adhesive and cover the edges of the backs of your cut out leaves and adhere the leaves where you want them on your card.
• Using rubbing alcohol (91% works best - dries quicker, but regular rubbing alcohol works fine), re-inkers, and a Stampin' Up! spray bottle, mix up your own color mists.  I used 5 colors on my card.
• Place the front of your card into an empty box and spray the front of your card with the color misters you made.
• You can use the Stampin' Up! heat tool, on low, to speed up the drying time.
• Once dry, remove the paper leaves you had adhered to your card.
• Using the line art stamps to match the leaves on your card, stamp on the white leaf spots.

So simple, and such a beautiful result!  It's so pretty in person!

INKS:  More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy, Early Espresso, Garden Green, & Cajun Craze - both ink pads and re-inkers

STAMPS:  Gently Falling & Day of Gratitude

NON-STAMPIN' UP! ITEMS:  copy paper, temporary adhesive, 91% rubbing alcohol, and a box to spray in

October Stampin' Nite fun

     My first monthly Stampin' Nite was so much fun!  You definitely don't want to miss the next one in November (the 10th - link on the "Stampin' Nite" tab at the top for all the details).

     We did the Rock-n-Roll technique on this card (on the leaves).  The ladies had a blast mixing and matching colors.  Everyone's card was so different and gorgeous!

     On November 10th, we will be making two holiday-themed cards.  One will be a shaker card (using the new Shake Frames) and the other will use the embossing resist technique on Glossy paper (gorgeous if I might say so myself!).  You will use one Shaker Frame and get to take the rest of the set (5 more rings) home with you, so you can make more at home.  If you are interested in these types of cards, don't miss November's Stampin' Nite.  RSVP by November 5th.

Stampin' UP! by a 6-year old

     This card was made by my oldest son, who is 6-years old.  I held my November class last Saturday Sunday and he joined us.  This is his version of the card the ladies made.  He is so proud of himself.  I think his card turned out better than mine :O)

     We also made a box.  My son also made the box.  He lined up the "Thank You" better than any of us did.  (Sorry the picture is crocked.  His box is actually very straight.)

     I'm very proud of my 6-year old.  He did an excellent job!  Maybe there is a Stampin' UP! job in his future?  Time will tell.

Day of Gratitude gift

     This is one of the gifts I made to sell at the vendor fair that ended up canceled this past weekend.  I happened to have these two boxes cut & scored from a class I did last December.  I decided to make a fall gift out of them.  I filled them with Candy Corn Hershey Kisses - the colors of the wrappers match the colors of the leaves.
  
     I used the rock-n-roll technique when I stamped the leaves.  I then cut out each leaf.  The sentiment was done using markers.

CARD STOCK:  Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, & Whisper White

INK/MARKERS:  Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Earl Espresso, & Crumb Cake

Day of Gratitude card

     This is my absolute favorite card I have made using this set, so far.  Every time I look at this card, I smile :O)

I LOVE THIS STAMP SET!!!!!

     I received this stamp set from Stampin' UP! when I attended the Baltimore regionals back in October. I'm holding a class this coming weekend that will be using this set.  I simply love the versatility of this stamp set and the fact that it's NOT just a Thanksgiving stamp set.

     While blog surfing about a month ago, I came across another demonstrator's card using this set.  I really wish I could remember who that was, and if you recognize it, PLEASE tell me, so I can give her proper credit.  Anyways, she did the large flower using the Stampin' Write Markers.  I CASEd her flower exactly (see above).  I loved the colors she used.  The rest of the card was my design and color combination.

     I had planned to share this card at our Girls Night Out (with stamping) last night, but I have been very sick over the past week.  I stayed home last night.  So my gorgeous card has yet to be shared, until now. Since I have materials ready, I plan to make this one on Sunday at my Day of Gratitude class.  I'm sure the girls can't wait to make this one.  It looks way more complicated to make than it really was.

     I used markers to color in the large flower and the sentiment.  I used the rock-n-roll technique to stamp the flowers.

Day of Gratitude November class

Don't miss out on all the fun!

     I'm so excited to be holding this class!  I {HEART} this stamp set!  I received it at regionals in Baltimore at the beginning of the month and have been using it a lot!  I'm so excited to share the projects I made in Baltimore with you.  Be sure you don't miss this one!

     In this class you will make 2 cards and a box.  You also get to take home the Day of Gratitude stamp set.  There are two different prices for this class, based on your stamp set preference:

$30 for the wood-mount set
$22 for the clear-mount set (you supply your own blocks)

*Please bring your scissors and adhesive (tape).  All other supplies are included in the class price.

     Registration for this class closes on Sunday, October 31st at 12:00 NOON.  I will place the order for the stamp sets that afternoon to ensure their arrival by the class date.  Payment is due at the time of registration - no later than 10/31/10 @ 12:00 PM.

DAY OF GRATITUDE

     While at the Baltimore Regionals, we received the Day of Gratitude stamp set (found in the Holiday Mini catalog).  Not only that, but we got to do 5 Make-n-Take projects using this stamp set.  We made a bunch of wonderful projects: 3 cards, 1 box, and a scrapbook page.

     Since I love this stamp set so much and Thanksgiving is coming up, I have decided to hold a class around this stamp set.

     DATE & TIME:  Sunday November 14, 2010 at 1PM

   WHAT YOU GET:  The stamp set (you decided wood-mount or clear-mount) & all the supplies need to make 2 cards and a box.

   PRICE:  $30 (includes the wood-mount set) OR $22 (includes the clear-mount set--clear block are NOT included - you must provide your own blocks, or you can add them to your order with the stamp set).  If you already own this stamp set, please let me know, I'll adjust the price for you.
