A sunshine for Sunshine

Sunshine is my OT therapist.  I've been working with her since March 7th - right after my 1st surgery.  I   Sunshine!  She is so caring and yet pushy (because all therapists need to do a little pushing).  She has done such a great job.  I am having another surgery next Wednesday.  I will continue to work with Sunshine until I finally get the word from my doctor.

4 months of working with Sunshine has built such a relationship.  When you work as much with someone as I have with her, you can't help but to build a bond.  Without her, my finger would not be as far as it is.  This being said, when I found out her birthday was earlier this month, I knew I HAD to make something for her.

I made her this super cute Post-It note holder.  I CASEd it from Angie Kennedy Juda.  I also CASEd the sunshine from a photo I saw on Pinterest.  I have no idea who's original idea it is, nor if I made it the same way, but I did figure out a way to make it.

TUTORIAL: sunshine

Punch 2 circles from the 1-3/4" punch.  Punch 16 banners from the banner punch.  I sponged one circle and all of the banner pieces.  I sponged the 8 back banner pieces using a slightly darker color than the front banner pieces.  Adhere 8 banner pieces to the back on the sponged circle - spreading them out.  Attach dimensionals (cut in half) to the bottom of the remaining 8 banner pieces and attach to the back on the circle with the banner pieces already attached - offsetting them from the first ones you did, so you can see them in-between.  Attach the second circle to the back to cover everything up and to give you something to adhere the sun down.

Want to see what the inside looks like?

This is such a simple gift to make.  It's also such a WOW!  Everyone I've made one for absolutely LOVE it!

I made on for Mother's Day, at my May Stampin' Nite.  All the ladies who attended just loved this simple project.  Be sure to check back tomorrow to see that one.

iPhone Card

I saw this idea on Pinterest.  Are you a pinner?  Oh my!  I just can't stop!  I get SO many ideas from there.  It's so addicting.

This card is the normal 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", A2, card.  I used Basic Gray card stock as the iPhone screen background, and the camera and ear hole.  I found the apps in a Google search.  I used a hand-held circle punch and traced on punched circle to get the little screen markers.  I then laminated the screen paper to give it a real screen look.

On the back, I printed out a really small Apple logo.  I used my Versa Mark pen (retired), and traced it.  I then used the pen and colored it in and used sliver embossing powder and embossed the apple.  I used Basic Gray and Basic Black card stock to make the camera (using my hand-held circle punch & Owl Builder Punch).

RECIPE

CARD STOCK:  Basic Black, Whisper White, & Basic Grey

MARKERS:  Versa Mark Marker (retired), Signo White Gel Pen, & Basic Black

TOOLS:  Owl Builder Punch, 1/16" circle punch (retired), Heat Tool, Silver embossing powder

NON-SU! ITEMS: Lamination film, Google (for pictures of apps & Apple logo), & 1/8" circle punch

I'm so happy with how this card turned out!  The person I gave it to, just loved it.  It's not hard to make a card look like an everyday item.  Google has an extensive images section, which is really useful for things like this.  Don't be afraid to see what's out there.  Let your imagination go wild!  That's when it gets fun!!!

Bunny Baskets

Oh my goodness!!!!!  When I saw this bunny basket posted on the Stampin' Up! blog, I HAD to make it.

Carrie Cudney, a Stampin' Up! employee in the Curriculum Developing & Training department, made this bunny basket and posted on the Stampin' Up! Blog.  She did not give directions on how to make him, but she did list all the supplies she used.  He was so simple to make, you really don't need directions to make him.

So simple, that I made 5 more:

These cute little bunnies will be on my dinner table on Sunday.  I will fill the little baskets with each individual's favorite candy.

Here's the back view.  Isn't the little bunny tail just too cute?

RECIPE

CARD STOCK:  Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, More Amore Speciality DSP, & Twitterpated DSP

INKS:  Versa Mark, Primrose Petals, & Baha Breeze (marker)

STAMPS:  Distressed Dots, Itty Bitty Banners, & Designer Typeset (photopolymer set)

TOOLS:  Big Shot, Ovals Collection Framelits, Petite Purse Bigz Die, Owl Builder Punch, Small Heart Punch, Large Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, Heat Tool, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, 3/16" Metallic Brads (2 gold ones), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue, & Stampin' Dimensionals

What are you making, or did make, for your Easter table?  I'd love to see what you have come up with.  If you are looking for an idea, I hope you will consider these really cute bunnies.  Just by adjusting the size ovals you use, you can make this bunny in so many different sizes.  The possibilities are endless!

Whoo's Birthday?

     A co-worker's, that's whoo's!

WARNING:  This card is not 100% Stampin' UP!

This card is going to a Science teacher from the whole team.  Since I had snow days the last two school days, and I was sick, I had time to churn this idea in my head.  I knew I wanted to use the Owl Punch, but I didn't know how.  So I turned to Stampin' Connection, a demo only website, for some ideas.  I need to thank Danielle Vincent.  It was her birthday card that I CASEd on the inside.  Wait until you see it!

Too cute!

I made one owl for each team member.  The one on the front cover is the for the birthday person.  It did take some time to punch all the owls, their middles, and eyes, but it was well worth the time and effort.

RECIPE

CARD STOCK:  Whisper White, Real Red & All retired ~ Yo-Yo Yellow & Brilliant Blue

INK:  Real Read & Pacific Point

STAMPS:  Curly Cute & Beary Best Friends

TOOLS:  Two-Step Owl Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, & Dimensionals

NON-STAMPIN' UP! ITEMS:  Cricut Machine and various cartridges & Zyron Machine
