Girls Night Out (with stamping)

WHEN:  Monday September 20, 2010

WHERE:  Perkins off on Rt. 191 in Bethlehem, PA

TIME:  7-8:30 PM

COST:  $10/person

WHAT:  Join us from some good dessert, mingling, and card making.

     You will get to make two cards, at no additional cost.  Please bring your adhesive (tape).  This will not be provided.  To help keep the cost down for you, no envelopes will be provided.

RSVP:  Please let me know by Wednesday, Sept. 15th, if you plan to come.  We need a count so we have enough supplies for everyone to be able to make the cards.

My Digital Studio

     My Digital Studio is a computer program that allows you to make digital scrapbooks & cards, calendars, DVDs, movies, and multi-media creations.

Stampin' & Dessert with Sandy & Bonnie

     QUESTION:  What is Stampin' & Dessert?

     ANSWER:  A night out, once a month, where we meet at Perkins, have a drink and a dessert, and stamp 2 cards, all for only $10!  Nothing else to buy.  Stampin' UP! catalogs will be available for you to look through and ask questions.  My may place an order, if you choose, but it's not expected.

     ANSWER:  Sandy and Bonnie are Stampin' UP! demonstrators who put together this fun evening, once a month, for everyone to get out and enjoy good company, great desserts, and a little stamping for little cost.

     QUESTION:  What do I need to bring with me?

     ANSWER:  You, a friend - if you'd like, $10 (per person), your adhesive (tape), and the expectation of having a GREAT time.  Please note, to help keep the cost down, no envelopes will be provided.

My Stampin' UP! Story

     Like I explained in a previous post (HERE), I am participating in a Stampin' UP! training program.  As part of Act 1, I had to state My Why for doing the training and write out and tell my Stampin' UP! story.

     Here is my Stampin' UP! story:

     The challenge Stampin' UP! gave us was to tell our story in our workshops.  Now this will be a real challenge for me, as I'm still learning the art of workshops, now they want to me share!  Go figure!  :O)  No, really, I'm happy to share my story.  Stampin' UP! has become a job I LOVE!  I wish it were my only job, but I'd miss teaching if it were.  I also made this using My Digital Studio - a WONDERFUL program, by the way!

PAPER:  Summer Splendor - Orchids

STAMP:  Love What You Do

COLORS:  I used the feature that allows you to choose colors from your design.  I first chose the paper, then I chose the blue for the stamp and the blue for the font from the blues in the orchids.

     I hope you enjoy reading my Stampin' UP! story.  I'm hoping to have a few workshops soon, so I can learn how to share my story (an abbreviated version) with everyone.  If you are interested in hosting a workshop, please let me know.  During the month of August, Stampin' UP! is offering hostesses a bonus: if the workshop reaches $350 or more, the hostess will receive an additional $25 hostess dollars to spend.  WOW!  What a wonderful bonus!

Stampin' UP! Recruit Crew: My Why

      Stampin' UP! has offered a training program to some of the demonstrators.  I was eligible this time, so I just right in.  It's a 10 week training program that includes training Acts and challenges.  During this time, I am to share with all of you.  I plan to do this in person and on my blog.  This will help me become a better demonstrator and hopefully increase my business and what I offer all of you.

     In Act 1, I was to focus on me.  The first step was to write out why we joined the Recruit Crew, the "My Why".  Here is what I did:

     In addition to making the statement, they suggested we create a stamping project so that we can display it and see it everyday - a way to keep the motivation.  I designed "My Why" using My Digital Studio.

Stampin' UP! DMS update

     For those of you who have Stampin' UP!'s MDS (My Digital Studio), you will want to update your program.  Here's why...

My Digital Studio Color Update Now Available

July 13, 2010
The version 1.0.4 update to My Digital Studio is now available. With this free update, not only will you get the latest My Digital Studio features and functionality, you also get all of the new colors (including digital card stock, ink colors and Patterns Designer Series Paper) from the recent color renovation! That’s a $50 value!
Updating your My Digital Studio software is easy.

• If you have installed the initial update (version 1.0.1), simply click Help and select Check for Updates in the My Digital Studio software. The update will be performed automatically.
• If you have not completed the initial update, download and install version 1.0.1 first, and then complete the steps listed above to get the most recent update.

Stampin’ Up! will also send an e-mail to all registered My Digital Studio users who have opted to receive e-mail from the company to alert them of the free upgrade and provide similar instructions as found above.

     This week, Stampin' UP! released their stamps, accessories, and Definitely Decorative retirement lists.  I get really excited this time of year, because I can't wait to see that is retiring and what is staying.

I DID IT!

     Well, I DID IT!  I'm officially a certified demonstrator of My Digital Studio.  I love this program!  It's so easy to use and so fun to work with.  I have it loaded on my laptop, so I can bring it with me to your workshops and show you and your family & friends this wonderful program.

     This program can do so much.  You can design and make cards, scrapbooks, scrapbook pages, posters, signs, calendars, movies, DVDs.  You can add video and music to your projects.  You can add your own pictures, or anything that is in .jpg or .png form.  There is just so much you can do with this program.  Plus, Stampin' UP! offers many downloads at a very reasonable price--no tax or shipping!
