Stampin UP! Letterpress Valentine

Now that Christmas and New Year's is past, I can now begin to think about Valentine's Day.  Stampin' UP! has some wonderful new letterpress plates.

There are currently 4 letterpress plates in the Holiday Mini Catalog (which will end tomorrow) and there is another Valentine's Day themed plate coming in the new Occasions Mini Catalog (available on January 4th).  I posted awhile back about the letterpress plates, including a video from Stampin' UP! on how to use the plates.  You can check it out HERE.

This cards used the Lots of Love Letterpress Plate, currently found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I used Versa Mark ink instead of Craft Ink, and I really like how it turned out.  I first used the letterpress plate on Cherry Cobbler, using Versa Mark ink.  I cut out the LOVE.  I then did it again on Pink Pirouette and layered the Cherry Cobbler LOVE right on top of the Pretty In Pink Love.

     Here is a close up:

RECIPE:

CARD STOCK:  Whisper White, Pink Pirouette , & Cherry Cobbler

INK:  Versa Mark & Pink Pirouette

Stampin' UP! Stockings Christmas Card

I designed a Christmas card about a month ago, in hopes of reproducing it for a vendor show I was getting ready to participate in.  I got really sick just before the date, and only ended up making my sample.

The photo does not do the card justice.  It is very clean and simple, but also gorgeous.  Sometimes I impress myself.

I used the Joyful Seasons Letterpress & Old Olive Craft Ink (the craft inks work best with the letterpresses).  I only inked up the stockings (there is a saying and some dots also on the plate).
I then used clear embossing powder and heat embossed the stockings.  It gives the stockings a slightly shiny look to them and they are slightly raised.  It adds to the card.

RECIPE:

CARD STOCK:  Whisper White, Old Olive, & Real Red

STAMPS:  Teeny Tiny Wishes

INK:  Old Olive & Whisper White Craft Inks

TOOLS:  Paper Trimmer, Joyful Season Letterpress, Big Shot, 3/16" Corner Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, & Heat Tool

Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think of my card.  This card was 100% my inspiration - which rarely happens.  I'd love to know what all of you think of it.

Happy Monday!

Stocking Card

This is a card I designed all by myself.  AMAZING!  Isn't it?  All kidding aside, I wanted to use my new letterpress.  I was not happy with how the letterpress worked, but of course, it's like anything else new, the more I tried it, the better I got at it.  It does take a few times using it to figure it out, but the look is wonderful!

I did just the stockings and I used Old Olive Craft ink.  I then clear heat embossed them (to make them slightly shiny).  I then cut each stocking out.  I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch and put Old Olive ribbon on top.  I really like how it urned out!

RECIPE:

CARD STOCK:  Old Olive & Whisper White

INK:  Old Olive Craft

STAMPS:  Many Merry Messages

TOOLS:  Joyful Season Letterpress Plate, Big Shot, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Paper Snips, Clear Stampin' Embossing Powder, & Heat Tool

Be sure to check back tomorrow.  Stampin' UP! will be announcing Cyber Monday deals that you won't want to miss!  I'll post all the information.
