Proportional Matting

Are you like me and love the look of layers?  Have you ever wanted to try more than 3 layers but just aren't sure what size you should cut your paper in order for it to look nice?

Well, I have just the guide for you :O)  The Proportional Matting Guide (not mine!  I got the idea from Happy Little Crafter).  The minute I saw it, I knew I HAD to share it.  It takes all the guess work out of mat sizes for your standard A2 sized card (5-1/2 x 4-1/4).

PROPORTIONAL MATTING GUIDE: for 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 sized cards
NOTE:  Sizes are all in inches

  • 5-1/4 x 4
  • 5 x 3-3/4
  • 4-3/4 x 3-1/2
  • 4-1/2 x 3-1/4
  • 4-1/4 x 3
  • 4 x 2-3/4
  • 3-3/4 x 2-1/2
  • 3-1/2 x 2-1/4
  • 3-1/4 x 2
  • 3 x 1-3/4
  • 2-3/4 x 1-1/2
  • 2-1/2 x 1-1/4
  • 2-1/4 x 1

I know I will be using this handy guide a lot!  No more guessing or cutting paper and wishing I had cut it bigger.  Now I can make that outside layer and a middle layer and know it will perfect!
