Good Luck in KU colors

I had a student teacher for the past 8 weeks, as well as another co-worker on my team.  Both ladies are going to Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.  Friday was their last day with us, as they are moving on to another placement.

We had a little party for the ladies - cake, cupcakes, stories, and of course, homemade cards:

Kutztown Univeristy's colors are maroon and gold, so I used Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard.  I never thought I'd like these two colors combined together, but I really like how they look together!

I wanted the cards to be the same, but not exactly the same.  Below are better close-ups of each card.  The only difference between the two cards are the rounded (or non-rounded) corners.

On the inside of both cards I used the same stamp.  I thought this stamp was perfect for these cards.

A Wormy Good Luck

The teacher in me made me purchase this set: First Day, from the new Summer Mini Catalog.  I could not resist this really cute bookworm.  It does say "bookworm" under the image, but I stamped it and cut him out, leaving off the words.  I colored the worm using the watercolor pencils and a blender pen~what fun!  I felt like I was in Kindergarten again!  I used a double layer (one on top of another) dimensionals on the top read layer to really raise it up, and I also used a single layer of dimensionals on the book worm.

I gave this card to a college student who has been working in my classroom one day a week this semester.  Last Thursday was her last day with my class.  I whipped up this card for all my students to sign and give to her.  It made her cry.
